We are on a site in Spain, when we plugged in the ehu the reverse polarity light on the Sargent was on, so I connected the reverse polarity adapter and it still glowed, also we have two mins switches one for the air con and one for the microwave and on both of them the lights are glowing to show they are switched on even though they are switched off.
We have just moved campsites and every thing was fine on the last site.

when you say the microwave and air con are switched on do you mean they are on standby ready to be used?

The reverse polarity light in a Sargent box also indicates that there is no earth, even though polarity may be correct. The hook up wiring may actually be the right polarity but without earth. Your reverse polarity adaptor may in fact be reversing a correct polarity when it is an earth issue. Check your hook up cable for a loose connection.

Do any of your neighbours have any hook up concerns or issues?

A polarity and earth testing plug would provide the answers.

From experience hook ups in Spain can be problematic although the majority are OK. Why not get the site maintenance crew to check out the hook up box or look for an alternative pitch on the site and see if that hook up functions better.

The main switches are in the off position but the little red lights in the switches that come on when in stand by are glowing red,

But I still need to switch the switches to the on position to make either of them to work
