LeShuttle and turn Left

Never been there we normally stop at Watten on the way out and back. Will have a look 🙂
Nice little fortress town. Aire just outside the walls in small park over looking tidal water. Nice stroll into small town, good market on Fridays I seem to remember. 5€ last time I was there.

Rue du Port, 59820 Gravelines, France

Been to France and Spain many times and the N10 is getting very boring. The prices in Spain for campsites has increased even the German guys next to us were complaining last year. So we thought we would use the Shuttle and turn left instead and follow the coast. Bit surprised that the Location App does not include Belgium or Netherlands. WEBSITE BLOCKED BY ADMIN seems to be the best. Is it worth getting the ACSI book. Any suggestions as to campsites, Aires etc. At least the fuel bill will be less as will the travelling time.
Do feel free to add suitable places in Belgium and Netherlands to the Location App! The more we contribute, the more comprehensive it becomes.

Slight aside, what do you use for Scandinavian tolls and bridge?
From our experience having been there a couple of times is go onto Autopass Ferje for the ferries. It will cover for most. You just register. You have to lodge 3000 NOK on the account and it debits down. It’s all shown on the systems to follow. Be aware though that you won’t get charged for all the crossings. The operation is just a guy using your vehicle reg number as you board. Really easy. As for tolls and bridge Try OresundGo and get a bizz unit from them. It gives you discount on the bridges and covers all the Norway road tolls. Hope that helps

If you’re turning left why use the tunnel?, the ferry from Harwich to Holland is really pretty good, added bonus is you land in Holland  .

We will be on holiday in Burnham on Crouch so not far to Canterbury and the Tunnel. We need the vet at Folkestone for the dogs paperwork as its £99 whereas out vet in Nottingham wants to charge us £250 + £57 for an examination. Far easier with the Shuttle and a dog.

I think we’ve used that vet too :)

And we wonder why we call it rip off Britain
I'm off to Ireland next week and I need to get my dog wormed and to have his passport stamped.

€46 in France coming back very recently.

£70 to £80 here!

Incidentally I've just had an examination by my private dentist for a small problem. That was just £20 which I feel is quite reasonable. Vets just print money!

We're heading that way next week but I might not be able to get onto the beach to pay our respects but I found this brief video in case I can't

I hope you find the remains of the crested eagle Kev
I been there 3 times but the tide was wrong on all occasions and never found its skeleton
my grandad was evacuated from Bray Dunes beaches Dunkirk in 1940 and I have been back there several times since
be sure to visit the commonwealth war graves in Dunkirk as well as the Operation Dynamo museum close to the mole

Fortunately my dad was saved the Dunkirk experience because, although part of the Royal Signals, he was with the 52nd Highland division who were abandoned at St Valerie and were mostly captured or killed. He and a couple of others who were French speakers managed to get away and became part of a specialist group. Sadly this only came to light after he died in2017 and stuff is still turning up even now
